Palmetto Boys State
At Boys State/Nation, participants learn the rights, privileges and responsibilities of franchised citizens. The training is objective and centers on the structure of city, county and state governments. Two representatives from each of the 49 Boys States represent their state at Boys Nation in Washington, where the young leaders receive an education on the structure and function of federal government.
Post 7 sponsors around 30 young men for Palmetto Boys State from area schools including Lexington High School, White Knoll High School, and Pelion High School. Participants must be rising seniors in order to be selected to attend. Cost is approximately $300 per student and Post 7 is assisted with funding from various community groups and businesses. If you are interested in supporting/sponsoring a young man for this honor, please contact us through our e-mail: firstname.lastname@example.org
