Post 7 Awards

Post 7 has received numerous awards over the years as written in our historical data.  We continue to serve our comrades  in many ways – Sharing Christmas with veterans and their families who are less fortunate than some, providing meals to the Lexington County Homeless Shelter for Veterans, and helping any veteran in a time of need when contacted.  Service to mankind – not just to veterans – is what Post 7 does!

We participate in various community events including troop deployments from Eagle Aviation, job fairs, Memorial Day events, riding in parades, and providing several Flag Disposal Ceremonies a year.  We have led the Pledge of Allegiance at County Council Meetings and have appeared before Council and the School Board with various community requests.  We participate in the Fort Jackson Cemetary Wreaths Across America Project.  We continue to encourage youth to participate in various Legion programs including Boy Scout of the year, Oratorical Contest, Boys State, and Baseball.  We sponsor nominees for teacher of the year, law enforcement officer of the year, and a fireman of the year.  For all of this, we have received local, state, and national recognition.  Our scrapbook is a fine example of our heritage and commitment as it too has received numerous awards for its thorough compilation.
